Fashion has always been my way of showing the world how I feel and who I am. When I was little, I would dress in all white so my parents would know I was upset. Growing up, I would wear the weirdest combinations: dresses and jeans, sequined shirts—anything unique called to me! An outfit can be a way to show the world that you are an artist, so that's what I try to do.

Fashion also brought me to Noir, and I can't imagine being anywhere else!

Fashion has always been a nuanced form of self-expression for me, especially as someone who is mixed-race. It’s both a tool to connect with others and a way to navigate the challenges of identity.Through fashion, I could reflect the diversity of my background—sometimes by wearing clothing that celebrates one part of my heritage, other times by blending elements from different cultures into a unique style.

Fashion has become a way for me to express myself, before coming to college I had difficulties discovering my style. Now, through NOIR and the freedom of college, I am allowed to freely be creative in my outfits and feel confident being different. This allowed me to connect with other fashion enthusiasts and connect on our favorite styles and pieces of clothing. Without discovering fashion and NOIR I wouldn’t be who I am today!

Fashion for me has truly helped me be able to express myself in ways that I verbally couldn't. I struggled a lot with insecurities within myself and just being overly self-conscious of how people perceived me. However, really understanding what fashion meant to ME, allowed me to show the world who I was, even when I'm still figuring that out myself. Fashion isn't just a fabric; it's a connection between people in the world.

As a member of our fashion and modeling organization, I’ve embraced a journey of self-expression through style. While I used to gravitate toward black for its simplicity, I’m now exploring more neutral and bold tones that better reflect my evolving confidence. I love creating comfortable yet cute looks that let my face and personality shine.

I see fashion as a reflection of influence. When I pick an outfit, I can always tie it to some kind of memory, be it a family member, musician, or even a piece of art. Even when I look unreasonable, there is always a good reason for it.

Fashion is a universal language where everyone’s unique style tells a story. It’s a reflection of individuality and an effortless conversation starter, creating connections through shared appreciation for self-expression. I love how it allows me to express my individuality and emotions while opening the door to meaningful connections. It’s incredible how a simple compliment or shared admiration for a style can spark conversations, break down barriers, and build relationships with people from different backgrounds and perspectives

Over the years, the progression of my personal style mirrors the evolution of my identity as I accrue new experiences and explore interests, passions, and facets of myself. In recent years, my fashion has reflected the values central to my identity such as a strong tie to my cultural heritage and my commitment to sustainability. What I love about fashion is that you can make it your own. It can be used as a means of celebration, connection, and resistance.

Fashion always served as an outlet for me to express my true authentic self, and is present regardless of what setting I'm in. Whether it's a networking event or casual outing, I make sure to add my own twists to my outfits which actually helps me perform better in many settings. It's also been a key differentiator in any endeavors, as I don't have to be a typical "finance bro" to pursue my goals but embrace my femininity and personal style when I present myself.

Fashion is a reflection of my interests and personality, allowing me to express who I am without words. It also helps me easily find like-minded people who share similar passions, without needing to say much.

Fashion has been a part of my life since I was two, when my mom, a former model, had me practicing my walk. Watching shows like Project Runway and RuPaul’s Drag Race deepened my love for fashion and initially inspired me to pursue fashion design. While I didn’t become a designer, I’ve always believed in the power of expressing myself through clothes, my outfits reflect my feelings and personality each day. That passion continues to drive me in my work with Noir and other modeling opportunities.

Fashion transcends language barriers. It's a common ground that people can bond over. I have used fashion to express myself by choosing to wear and create items that reflect my culture and values. My fashion style has now become part of my identity and a way I connect with others.
